Job Purpose
The purpose of the Ombudsman will be to receive and investigate complaints submitted in terms of section 16 of the Act regarding inefficiency of the police or a breakdown in relations between the police and any community; and to further perform the other functions assigned to him or her under the Act.The Premier of the Western Cape invites all suitably quilified persons, witih experience in the field of law or policing, to submit applications for the appointment as the Western Cape Provincial Police Ombudsman in terms of section 11 of the Western Cape Community Safety Act, 2013 (Act 3 of 2013) (the Act).The appointment will be made in accordance with section 11(2) of the Act for a non-renewable term not exceeding five years.

Applicants must be suitably qualified, with experience in the Field of Law or Policing.
