    To support the implementation of a research project focused on Work Integrated Learning in the TVET sector. The incumbent will assist with data collection, analysis, stakeholder engagement, literature reviews, project administration, and dissemination of research findings.

    Requirements

    A relevant Honours / B.Tech Degree Two years relevant experience in a research environment Computer Literacy skills (MS Office Suite), and Data Analysis software Competencies Research Competencies Knowledge of qualitative and quantitative research methods Experience in research data collection Ability to undertake literature reviews and academic writing Understanding of research ethics and data management Technical Competencies Microsoft Office suite and data analysis software Personal Attributes Strong organisational and time management skills Internal and external liaison Attention to detail and accuracy Ability to work independently and collaboratively Driver's licence Willingness to travel to TVET colleges and workplaces Professional integrity and confidentiality Good communication skills (verbal and writing) Good interpersonal skills Continuous learning Good work standards and ability to manage work Good administrative skills Technical and Professional Knowledge and skills Report writing skills Microsoft Office suite and data analysis software

    Duties

     Literature review and research support Conduct systematic and scoping literature reviews on TVET, WIL, Workplace Learning, Lecturer Development, Occupational Qualifications, and related topics Search and retrieve academic qualifications, policy documents, and grey literature Prepare literature summaries and annotated bibliographies Assist in developing conceptual and theoretical frameworks Data Collection: (involves travelling to South African TVET colleges in urban and rural areas). Coordinate and conduct surveys, interviews, focus groups, workshops, and workplace observations Assist with participant recruitment and communication Manage informed consent procedures and ethical compliance Data Management and Analysis Capture, clean, and organise quantitative and qualitative data sets Use software such as SPSS and NVivo to support analysis Ensure secure storage and management of research data Stakeholder engagement Liaise with TVET Colleges, employers, government departments and related parties Assist with organising planned workshops and stakeholder visits Support communication with all research participants and other partners Report Writing and Dissemination Assist with drafting reports and conference papers and DHET accredited publications Assist in preparing funding proposals Participate and contribute to dissemination activities including seminars and conferences
