    Job Overview

    To engage in class teaching, including the academic, administrative, educational and disciplinary aspects and to organise extra and co-curricular activities so as to ensure that the education of the learners is promoted in a proper manner.

    Formal Qualifications and Inherent Requirements

    Qualifications Required

    A recognized three year (REQV 13) qualification which includes professional teacher education. (Essential)

    Registration as a Professional Teacher with the South African Council for Educators (SACE)/proof of registration (Essential)

    A four year (REQV 14) qualification which includes professional teacher education. (Recommended)

    Work Experience Required

    NONE except for specialist knowledge of the subject/s/grade/phase

    Recommendations

    - Relevant experience- Utilising technology / ICT in the classroom- Involvement in sport and cultural activities

    Other

    First aid. Sport coaching/umpiring. Reader/scribe trained. Good human relations/conflict management. Language learning area head & Grade head experience (advantageous). Fundraising activities.
