This includes performing surveys and survey computations, promoting safety in line with statutory and regulatory requirements, and evaluating existing plans, technical manuals, standard drawings, and procedures to incorporate new technology. The role also involves providing Geographic Information System (GIS), mapping, and information supply services, as well as performing administrative and related functions. The technician will contribute to budget inputs, compile and submit reports, and consolidate inputs into the technical survey operational plan. Further responsibilities include the development, implementation, and maintenance of databases, as well as the supervision and control of Candidate Survey Technicians or Officers and related personnel and assets. The incumbent will also conduct research and development, engage in continuous professional development to keep pace with new technologies, and research literature on technical survey technology or new survey techniques. Liaison with relevant bodies and councils on survey-related matters is another key aspect of the role.
