    State Accountant: Asset Officer: (SL7) x1 (three years contract).

    Requirements: An appropriate bachelor’s degree/National Diploma in Supply Chain Management/ Financial Management . Three years of experience in Asset Management. Knowledge and understanding of BAS, LOGIS, BOARD and SAGE financial system. Knowledge of GRAP, Treasury Regulation and Public Finance Management Act and CET Act. Valid driver’s license.

    Duties: Ensure the capturing of all physical (moveable and immoveable) assets in the fixed asset registers in SAGE system. Monitor the allocation of assets to the asset holders. Update the assets register on regular basis. Monitoring of assets in accordance with the relevant policy and procedures. Promote correct implementation of sound asset management practices. Manage all asset movement within the College. Identify and assess redundant, unserviceable and obsolete assets for disposal. Maintaining and updating fixed Assets in the register whenever the assets are acquired and ensure that they are bar-coded and recorded in the system. Monitor the status of record associated with the assets of the College applying internal procedures to check, verify, update and maintain acquisition, value, Condition and location details. Update the insurance company of all new assets acquired as well as disposals. Monthly reconciliation of General Ledger and fixed asset register. Identify misallocation and correct by means of journal. Perform quarterly depreciation of assets. Perform quarterly asset verification. Perform assets note as part of disclosure notes in the Annual Financial Statements and prepare audit working paper file. Assist and make inputs in preparations of Annual Financial Statements. Respond to internal and external auditors. Apply the policies, procedure, standards and legislation with regards to asset treatment. Maintain proper records keeping of fixed asset.
