Remuneration

Grade 1: R 229 440 per annum, Grade 2: R 272 778 per annum, Grade 3: R 319 071 per annum Annual salary plus service benefits (13th cheque, employer's contribution to the pension fund, housing and medical aid allowance).

Experience

Grade 1: none, Grade 2: A minimum of 10 years’ appropriate experience in nursing after registration as Staff Nurse with SANC, Grade 3: A minimum of 20 years appropriate /recognizable experience in nursing after registration as Staff Nurse with SANC.

Duties (key result areas/outputs)

Development and implement basic patient care plans. Provide basic clinical nursing care. Effective utilization of physical and financial resources. Maintain professional growth/ethical standards and self-development.

Minimum educational qualification

Qualification that allows registration with South African Nursing Council as Staff Nurse.

Competencies (knowledge/skills)

Basic communication skills (both written and verbally). Ability to function as part of a team. Good human relations. The ability to render nursing care of an acceptable and safe standard.

Registration with a professional council

Registration with the SANC as a Staff Nurse.

Inherent requirements of the job

Willingness to work shifts, public holidays, after-hours, night duty and weekend cover for nursing. Willingness to rotate within the hospital in different wards. Ability to work under pressure.
