SENIOR ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN: PROJECT MANAGEMENT UNIT (PMU)
(REF: 2026-2027/22)
Requirements:
? Grade 12
? National Diploma in Civil Engineering (NQF 6)
? National Diploma in Project Management (NQF 6) will be an added advantage
? Five (5) years’ working experience in Project Management at least three years in Municipal infrastructure project management
? Registration as a Professional or Candidate with the Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA) or South African Council
for the Project and Construction Management Professions (SACPCMP)
? Previous experience in Municipal Infrustructure Grant/Programmes will be an added advantage
? Computer Literacy and good report writing skills
? Valid Code B Driver’s License
? Good communication skills
The successful applicant / candidate must possess competencies as published in Annexure A of the Local Government: Municipal Staff

Key Performance Areas:
? Manage and monitor performance of consultants and contracts for MIG projects and other municipal programmes
? Ensure compliance with all legal aspects and conditions, as required by the various spheres of government
? Facilitate the implementation of plans for MIG programme
? Assist in managing the formulation of specific contracts and tender documents and control contractual obligations
? Assist in the administration of all projects, including quality assurance and risk management
? Project-manage the labour-intensive projects in line with EPWP framework and the related reporting requirements
? To perform any other duties assigned by the PMU Manager
? Assist with other related Municipal infrastructure programmes
? Maintaining project performance data on a national database
? Conduct site visits/meeting to ensure compliance
? Draw monthly and quarterly reports
