POST NAME : SENIOR TECHNICIAN: DIRECT CURRENT x 1

EMPLOYMENT CONTRACT : PERMANENT
SALARY SCALE : R398 590.00 – R517 397.00 PER ANNUM (PLUS BENEFITS)
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
• Matric.
• National Diploma in Electrical Engineering (Heavy current) or any relevant qualification at NQF 6.
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (HC/LC) will be an added advantage
• At least 5 years work-related experience in electricity network Direct Current DC (environment) of MV/LV Network
• Valid registration with ECSA as a Professional Technician.
• Must have Level 10 ORHVS (Regulation to work on High Voltage networks) and must have Level 2/ intermediate level of certification certificate assessment certificate in Protection & Direct Current environment to be able to apply and interpret standards and procedures.
• Valid EB Driver's License.
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS ( Include but not limited to):
• Coordinating maintenance activities and plans with respect to the Network Protection of the Plant and the execution thereof within planned parameters in accordance with DC operating standards.
• Analyse substation drawings and do DC scheme modifications and updates when required as per DC operating standards.
• Diagnose faults and Repair Protection and DC equipment in accordance with electricity standard operating procedures and manuals by performing standby duties on a scheduled basis.

• Apply fault-finding techniques as well as innovative ideas, logic and novel approaches to determine the cause of the failure and do customer and special investigations execution.
• Commissioning of DC equipment.
