The main duties of the Senior State Accountant include administering the payment of staff salaries and allowances, conducting calculations for over and under payments of salaries, and administering stop order deductions from salaries. The incumbent will also be responsible for ensuring the safe custody of salary documents and for managing the performance of personnel within the unit. This is a hands-on yet supervisory role that requires accuracy, confidentiality and strict adherence to financial regulations and departmental policies.
The Department is an Equal Opportunity Affirmative Action Employer and intends to promote representivity in terms of race, gender and disability through these posts.
