The Senior Meteorological Technician provides technical expertise as an Aeronautical Meteorological Observer, as well as maintenance of meteorological instruments assigned to the Upington Weather Office.
Requirements
Weather Observers Certificate (NQF Level 5, WMO BIP-MT compliant) NQF Level 4 or Senior Certificate (with Mathematics and Physical Science) ICAO AMO competency certificate Required Minimum Knowledge of ICAO Annex 3 standards At least 3 years’ experience within the Meteorological Environment A code 8 driver’s license Technical and Behavioural Competencies Required Technical Organisational performance measurement (strategic, operational, and financial) Budgeting Leadership and management skills Governance and Risk Management Business Continuity Management Behavioral Networking, Influencing and Negotiation Skills Results driven Excellent Communication skills (written and verbal/ presentation skills) Resilience Emotional Intelligence Ability to work in a team Maintaining confidentiality Ability to work under pressure
