Duties
PURPOSE OF THE POSITION To implement and coordinate direct marketing and student recruitment initiatives that attract, engage and convert high-quality prospective learners to support the enrolment plan of the North-West University.The role is responsible for delivering career guidance through various activities and channels, managing stakeholder relationships, representing the NWU brand at activations, exhibitions and recruitment platforms, and providing operational project management for recruitment campaigns and related projects. The role also supports postgraduate, international and other strategic recruitment initiatives as required..KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:1. Direct Marketing, Career Guidance and Learner RecruitmentRecruit prospective undergraduate and postgraduate students in line with enrolment targets, with a strong focus on high-quality learners and priority markets. Deliver career guidance through school visits, subject choice interventions, parent evenings, career exhibitions, campus visits, virtual engagements and other recruitment platforms. Engage learners from an early pipeline stage, including identified Grade 9, 11 and 12 audiences.Promote NWU’s academic offering, admission requirements, bursary opportunities, student value proposition and brand attributes across relevant channels. 2. Prospective Student Conversion and Pipeline ManagementManage and convert prospective student leads from enquiry to application and offer enrolment stage through CRM, digital platforms and direct follow-up. Respond timeously to learner, parent, teacher and stakeholder enquiries. Support database growth, lead nurturing, bulk and trigger communication, and the tracking of conversion activity. Use recruitment systems, campaign data and pipeline insights to improve follow-up, conversion and recruitment outcomes. 3. Operational Project Management for Campaigns and Projects Coordinate and implement operational recruitment projects and campaigns allocated by management. Convene meetings, monitor progress, manage timelines, coordinate stakeholders and support delivery of campaign outputs. Assist with campaign planning and execution across direct marketing initiatives, activations, postgraduate recruitment initiatives, international marketing support projects and related portfolio work. Contribute to the development and distribution of marketing material, one-pagers, brochures and campaign assets.4. International Marketing and Strategic Recruitment Support duties Support international marketing and recruitment activities through targeted communication, stakeholder coordination, market-facing activities and event support where required. Contribute to the promotion of NWU offerings to relevant international and strategic audiences. Support postgraduate, distance and other special recruitment initiatives as allocated, without assuming the broader strategic oversight role of the Senior Manager. 5. Reporting, Administration and CRM CoordinationCompile monthly and campaign-based reports on activities, stakeholder engagement, learner interest, conversion progress, successes and challenges. Ensure effective use of CRM and recruitment systems, accurate handling of enquiries, and proper record-keeping. Attend staff meetings, planning sessions, training and relevant forums. Handle administrative duties, travel documentation and related operational processes timeously.6. Stakeholder Engagement and Brand RepresentationBuild and maintain productive relationships with schools, teachers, Life Orientation educators, principals, parents, faculties and other relevant stakeholders. Represent the university professionally at activations, exhibitions, sponsorship engagements, open days, school events, community engagements, activations and recruitment forums. Strengthen NWU’s visibility and reputation through consistent, values-driven brand representation.Liaise with the assigned faculty to represent Marketing and Student Recruitment related activities.
