Senior Lecturer – Immunology

Qualifications An NQF level 10 qualification with Immunology as a major. Experience At least three years’ working experience in teaching at an academic institution At least two years’ experience in supervision of postgraduate students at tertiary institution. At least five SAPSE accredited publications in Immunology Skills Knowledge of appropriate teaching methods in Immunology Knowledge of appropriate assessment methods in Immunology Knowledge in coordination of module(s) Ability to work with students strong written and oral communication skills Strong Research Skills The following are not minimum requirement but will serve as an advantage Registration with the HPCSA will serve as an advantage A teaching qualification will serve as an advantage

Give lectures in all immunology modules and immunology sections of other modules Coordinate Immunology modules Moderation of immunology modules Give practical sessions in immunology Supervise postgraduate and undergraduate research in the department and other programmes Develop own individual and or group research and apply for research funding Participate in Participate in departmental and interdepartmental research. Develop teaching and research collaborations Develop Research manuscripts for publication Chair at least one departmental committee Participate in School and or faculty committees. ……………………………………………………………………………………………………………
