The clerk will also prepare and capture approved payment batches on the financial systems, BAS and LOGIS, and manage accruals and payables for the disclosure of financial statements. Furthermore, the position involves ensuring that budgets are allocated to the correct line items, as well as requesting budget allocations for the following financial year and for adjustment budgets.
To be considered for this role, applicants must possess an NQF Level 4 qualification, which is equivalent to a Grade 12 certificate. This is a full-time position with a closing date in November 2026. The department has a strong intention to promote representativity, and preference will be given to candidates from designated groups, particularly people with disabilities, women, and the youth. Applicants should note that they are not required to submit copies of qualifications with their initial application, but shortlisted candidates will need to provide certified documents. All shortlisted candidates will be subjected to personnel suitability checks, including verification of criminal records, citizenship, financial records, and qualifications, and may be required to consent to access to their social media accounts. It is also important to note that new appointments in the public service must be part of the Government Employee Medical Scheme (GEMS) to qualify for a government medical subsidy. Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted, and if no notification is received within four months of the closing date, applicants should consider their application unsuccessful.
