Job Description
Knowledge of Public Service legislative frameworks,
policies and processes. Good interpersonal and organizational skills. Good
communication skills (written and verbal). Advanced Computer literacy packages
such as Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, MS Word, Group Wise Internet etc. Good
research and analytical skills. Ability to work in a team and independently.
Willingness to occasionally work after hours when needed.
Requirements
Grade 12 plus a recognised Secretarial Diploma or related
qualification. Experience in rendering secretarial/administrative support
services. Driver’s license will be an added advantage.
Duties
Overall management of the office administration functions
in the Directorate. Provide a secretarial/receptionist support service to the
Senior Manager. Compile realistic schedules of appointments. Provide
administrative support services in the Office of the Senior Manager. Provide
support to senior manager regarding meetings. Record minutes and communicates
to relevant role-players. Coordinate logistical arrangements for meetings when
required. Support the manager with the administration of the Office Budget.
Collect and coordinate all the documents that relate to the Director/Chief
Director's budget. Remain up to date with regard to the policies and procedures
applicable to senior manager work terrain to ensure efficient and effective
support to the Senior Manager. Remain abreast with the procedures and processes
that apply in the office of the Director.
More Information
Only shortlisted
candidates will be required to submit certified documents. Foreign
qualifications must be accompanied by an evaluation certificate from the South
African Qualification Authority (SAQA). Emailed applications will not be
considered. All shortlisted candidates, including the SMS, shall undertake two
pre-entry assessments. One will be a practical exercise to determine a
candidate’s suitability based on the post’s technical and generic requirements
and the other will be an integrity (ethical conduct) assessment. Shortlisted
candidates will be required to be available for assessments and interviews at a
date and time to be determine by the Department. The first two recommended
candidates for Deputy Directors posts will be subjected to competency
assessment. All shortlisted
candidates for SMS posts will be subjected to a technical exercise and
interview. Following the technical
exercise and interview, a maximum of three (3) SMS candidates will undergo
psychometric assessments to assess cognitive capabilities, behavioral
preferences, emotional intelligence, and integrity.

be expected to enter into an employment contract and a performance agreement
within 3 months of appointment. Failure to comply with the above instructions
