The Government Printing Works (GPW) is offering a 24-month graduate internship opportunity for a Rubber Stamps post, based in Pretoria. This role forms part of the institution’s Graduate Programme for the 2027/2029 financial year, which is designed to provide unemployed South African graduates with structured workplace exposure and practical experience in their field of study. The internship is specifically aimed at graduates who hold a National Diploma or Degree in Graphic Design or Desktop Publishing, and who have not previously participated in an internship programme. Applicants must be South African citizens and should be honest about any prior internship involvement, as failure to disclose this information may result in the immediate termination of the internship contract on grounds of dishonesty or undue enrichment.
The successful intern will be placed within the rubber stamps section of the GPW, where they will receive structured training and work exposure aligned with the placement area. Under the supervision of experienced professionals, the intern is expected to actively participate in workplace activities, projects, and capacity-building initiatives. This will include applying graphic design and desktop publishing skills to the production processes related to rubber stamps, while also gaining broader insight into the operational environment of a large government printing entity. The programme is intended to bridge the gap between academic study and the practical demands of the workplace.
Applicants must submit their applications using the prescribed new Z83 application form, which is available from any public service department or online. The correct job title and the reference number of the post must be indicated in the subject line of the email, and the appropriate email address associated with the post must be used. Only shortlisted candidates will be required to submit certified copies of their qualifications and other relevant documents before the interview. Those with foreign qualifications must ensure their credentials are evaluated by the South African Qualifications Authority (SAQA) before applying. Applications that are late, incomplete, or submitted via fax will not be considered.
Shortlisted candidates must be available for interviews at a date and time determined by the GPW, and personnel suitability checks will be conducted as part of the selection process. Successful candidates will be required to enter into an employment contract and performance agreement. By applying, candidates consent to the collection, processing, and storage of their personal information in accordance with the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA), and such information will only be used for the recruitment process. If applicants do not receive a response within three months of the closing date, they should consider their application unsuccessful. The GPW reserves the right to fill or not fill the advertised post.
