This sessional appointment opportunity is open to professional nurses who hold a specialty qualification and wish to work on a session-by-session basis within public hospitals across the Limpopo province. The posts are graded as Professional Nurse: Specialty (PN-B1) at Grade 1 or Grade 2, with a maximum of twenty sessions per week, where one session equals one hour. The same advertisement also covers sessional posts for professional nurses with midwifery at Grade 1 to Grade 3, with the same twenty-session weekly limit. Successful candidates will be placed at specific hospitals in the Capricorn, Mopani, Sekhukhune, Vhembe and Waterberg districts, depending on the specialty and the hospital’s needs. For the specialty posts, the hospitals include Pietersburg, Mankweng, Letaba, St Ritas, Philadelphia, Tshilidzini and Mokopane, while the midwifery posts cover a broader list of facilities across the Vhembe, Waterberg, Capricorn and Mopani districts.
Applicants for the specialty posts must hold a basic R425 qualification, namely a diploma or degree in nursing or an equivalent qualification that allows registration with the South African Nursing Council as a professional nurse. In addition, they must have a post-basic nursing qualification in one of the recognised specialty disciplines, with a minimum duration of one year and accredited by the SANC, except in the case of neonatal ICU nursing.
