Requirements: • Basic R425 qualification (Diploma/Degree in Nursing) or equivalent qualification that allows registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) as a professional nurse. • Psychiatric training will be an added advantage • Registered under the South African Nursing Council (SANC) under the scope of practice of registered nurses. • Computer Literacy (MS Office -Advanced Excel preferred). • Valid Driver’s Licence. Duties: • Provide quality comprehensive nursing care to students and staff within the primary health care context. • Administer a treatment plan of common or minor primary health conditions in accordance with prescribed norms and standards, guidelines and treat conditions of patients (students and staff) as prescribed. • Screen health problems and diseases in accordance with prescribed norms and standards. • Participate in health and wellness promotion and illness prevention initiatives in conjunction to the Student Support Services Unit. • Assist the lecturers involved with the Primary Health and Ancillary health education programme with the mentoring of the students. • Provide medical assistance during special college events. • Work in close collaboration with the college Health and Safety Officer. • Operate the college mobile clinic between campuses on a daily basis. • Create and maintain a complete and accurate nursing record for individual health are users (students and staff). • Utilize human, material and physical resources effectively and efficiently (Inventory/ Stock Register, medication register, duty schedules, monthly allocation lists.) • Maintain a therapeutic relationship and environment in which health care can be provided optimally and safely. • Maintain ethical practice within legal and regulatory frameworks
