SALARY SCALE:178 884.12-R232 218.84
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
• Grade 12 or NQF Level 4
• N6 on Water and Wastewater Treatment processes/ Water Care/National Diploma in Analytical Chemist or Equivalent
• Code 8 driving License.
• 2 – 3 years' experience in Waste water treatment/Waste water Treatment Works or in Laboratory Services
• Valid Operator's Certificate from the department of Water and Sanitation, Class IV will be an added advantage
• Physically fit, Sober Habits, Good communication skills in at least Two of the Three official languages in the Eastern Cape, report writing and presentation skills, must be willing to work shifts.
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:
• Collecting and analysing of water samples and ensure that deviations are addressed accordingly
• Opening/Closing valves to specific limits to control levels and regulate flow from/to storage units.
• Reporting outcomes and proceedings with corrective measures, adjusting mechanical controls settings and regulate chemical levels to required dosing rate.
• attending the first line maintenance of pumps and machinery (i.e. greasing, cleaning, transmitting valves, minor maintenance work, etc.)
• Report to immediate supervisor on plant conditions.
• Ensuring proper housekeeping and follow the required OHS acts.
• Follow instructions given by his/her immediate supervisor.
SPECIAL CONDITIONS: Required to work in all weather conditions and outside normal working hours during emergencies and planned overtime.
