This vacancy offers three Personnel Officer posts within the Limpopo Department of Health, stationed at Giyani Nursing Campus, Pietersburg Hospital, and Sekhukhune District Office respectively. Each role forms part of the broader human resource administration function of the provincial health department, supporting the implementation of sound HR practices across these facilities and district offices. The position is suited to candidates with a strong administrative background who are able to handle a variety of personnel matters in a public sector environment, working closely with employees, line managers, and HR teams to ensure compliance with departmental policies and relevant prescripts.

To be considered, applicants must hold a National Senior Certificate or equivalent, supplemented by an NQF Level 6 qualification in Human Resource Management, Public Management, Public Administration, or a related field recognised by the South African Qualifications Authority. Computer literacy is essential, including proficiency in MS Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and virtual meeting platforms. A valid driver’s licence is also required, although an exception is made for people with disabilities. In addition to these formal requirements, the department expects candidates to demonstrate good verbal and written communication skills, sound interpersonal abilities, and the capacity to work effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders.

The core duties of the role involve implementing human resource administration practices in line with departmental standards, which includes managing conditions of service such as leave, housing, medical benefits, injury on duty, long service recognition, overtime, relocation, pension, allowances, and the PILIR process. Personnel Officers are also responsible for supporting the performance management cycle, guiding employees through the steps associated with termination of service, responding to human resource administration enquiries from staff and managers, and compiling relevant statistics for reporting purposes. These tasks require attention to detail, confidentiality, and a thorough understanding of public service human resource policies.

Candidates should note that the department places strong emphasis on proper application procedures. A fully completed new Z83 form must be accompanied by a comprehensive curriculum vitae, and all fields must be correctly completed as outlined in the application instructions. Applicants with foreign qualifications are responsible for having them evaluated by SAQA and must provide proof of such evaluation. All shortlisted candidates will be required to attend interviews and must bring certified copies of qualifications, identity documents, and any relevant registration. In addition, shortlisted candidates will undertake two pre-entry assessments, namely a practical exercise and an integrity assessment, as part of the selection process. Successful candidates should also be aware that failure to comply with the conditions and requirements of the post may lead to disqualification. This role offers an opportunity for individuals who are detail-oriented and committed to delivering quality human resource services within the public health sector.
