Statistics South Africa (Stats SA) is advertising four vacancies for Organisational Development & Job Evaluation Officers at its Head Office in Pretoria. The incumbents will be part of the organisational development and job evaluation unit, helping to ensure that the department’s structures, business processes and job grading systems are efficiently administered and aligned with public service standards. This is an operational-level post with coordination and administrative responsibilities that support the broader human resources and organisational effectiveness objectives of the national statistics agency.
To be considered, applicants must hold a National Diploma (NQF 6) in one of the specified fields such as Management Services, Business Management, Operational Management, Public Management, Strategic Management, Organisational Development or Human Resources Management. In addition, the role requires formal training in Job Design and Evaluation, Work Study Measurement and Method Study, Business Process Management and Service Delivery Model. A certificate in Job Evaluation issued by the National School of Government is compulsory. Candidates should also have between one and two years’ experience working in an organisational design and job evaluation environment, along with a basic understanding of public sector prescripts and how government departments operate. Strong attention to detail and the ability to perform under pressure while meeting tight deadlines are essential personal attributes.
The main duties of the post revolve around supporting the Job Evaluation Committee and related structures. The officer will coordinate the administration of Job Evaluation Committee, Business Process and Organisational Design meetings, record proceedings, and monitor the implementation of resolutions and action items. They will maintain accurate records, databases and filing systems for all organisational development and job evaluation documentation, and coordinate the receipt, registration, tracking and filing of related requests. The role also involves facilitating business process review requests and activities, as well as work study requests and assessments. Furthermore, the officer will collect and consolidate the information required for organisational assessments, ensuring that decision-makers have reliable and complete data.
