    Remuneration

    Candidates who are not in possession of the stipulated registration requirements, may also apply.     Competencies (knowledge/skills)

    Excellent communication skills (verbal and written). Ability to work in integrated multi-disciplinary teams across all platforms. Sound knowledge of occupational therapy care and treatment.

    Experience

    Grade 1: None after registration with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) as an Occupational Therapist. 1 year relevant experience after registration with the HPCSA as an Occupational Therapist in respect of foreign qualified employees, of whom it is not required to perform community service as required in South Africa. Grade 2: A minimum of 10 years’ appropriate experience after registration with the Health Professions Council of South African (HPCSA) as an Occupational Therapist. A minimum of 11 years relevant experience after registration with the Health Professions Council of South Africa as an Occupational Therapist in respect of foreign qualified employees, of whom it is not required to perform community service as required in South Africa. Grade 3 A minimum of 20 years’ appropriate experience after registration with the Health Professions Council of South African (HPCSA) as an Occupational Therapist. A minimum of 21 years relevant experience after registration with the Health Professions Council of South Africa as an Occupational Therapist in respect of foreign qualified employees, of whom it is not required to perform community service as required in South Africa.

    Duties (key result areas/outputs)

    Provisions of Occupational Therapy services in the specialist field of occupation-based group, community development-rehabilitation, health promotion and prevention services. Work within a community orientated primary care approach to enhance community capacity to care for all persons within the Sub District. Creation and support of supervisory structures and enabling platforms for student practice learning. Participate in training and development.

    Registration with a professional council

    Registration with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) as an Occupational Therapist.

    Minimum educational qualification

    Appropriate qualification that allows registration with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) as an Occupational Therapist.

    Inherent requirements of the job

    Valid (Code B/EB) driver’s licence. Willingness to travel.
