Remuneration

Grade 1: R 1 395 528 - R 1 479 723, Grade 2: R 1 592 274 - R 1 688 553 per annum, Grade 3: R 1 844 151 - R 2 301 186 per annum A portion of the package can be structured according to the individual's personal needs.

Experience

Orthopaedic trauma surgery specialist clinical service provision. Based at MPH but involved in the western metropole platform ecosystem as service requirements dictate. Supervision and training of junior surgical staff. Participation in under- and post-graduate divisional activities. Participate in after hour service provision.

Experience:Grade1: None after registration with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCS

Grade 1: None after registration with the HPCSA as a Medical Specialist in Orthopaedic Surgery. Grade 2: A minimum of 5 years’ appropriate experience as Medical Specialist after registration with the HPCSA (or a recognised foreign Health Professional Council in respect of a foreign qualified employee) as a Medical Specialist in Orthopaedic Surgery. Grade 3: A minimum of 10 years’ appropriate experience as Medical Specialist after registration with the HPCSA (or a recognised foreign Health Professional Council in respect of a foreign qualified employee) as a Medical Specialist in Orthopaedic Surgery.

Competencies (knowledge/skills)

Clinical and surgical competency in generalist orthopaedic surgery. Ability to work in a high-volume clinic and surgical environment. Computer literacy and interest in data collection for service improvement. Insight into challenges of local health care delivery, diversity, transformation and equity. clinical experience in orthopaedic generalist care provision, in particular trauma. Experience in supervision and training of staff and students at under- and post-graduate levels.

Minimum educational qualification

Appropriate qualification that allows registration with the Health Professional Council of South Africa (HPCSA) as Medical Specialist in Orthopaedic Surgery.
