Requirements
Matric, A National Diploma/ bachelor’s degree in Economics, Development Economics, Business Management, a relevant postgraduate qualification or equivalent. Five (5) years relevant experience to Planning and Economic development Department - LED Unit. Valid Driver’s Licence. Honours Degree will be an added advantage. - Good management, human relations, interpersonal and communication skills. - Computer literacy (Ms Office) with good presentation skills. - Knowledge of procurement function - Good understanding of Local Government legislation - Knowledge of Municipal Finance Management Act - Knowledge of the Preferential Procurement Policy Framework - Knowledge of the Public Finance Management Act and related legislation - Strong analytical skills and attention to detail - Knowledge of municipal applicable legislations - Reasonable understanding of linkage between IDP and Corporate Plan - Budgeting, Reporting and Annual Planning context in Municipal Context - Personal credibility and professionalism - Marketing skills and fundraising and negotiation skills - Strong Supervisory skills
Duties
- Manages and Co-ordinates the critical key performance areas of the functionality and provides input into the broader Local Economic Development objectives - Identifies with key dimensions and opportunities with regards to Local Economic Development - Manages and Co-ordinates and executes specific project/ programme requirements and monitors application and outcomes. - Attends to the administrative recording, reporting and recordkeeping requirements/procedures. - Controls the key performance areas and critical outputs of personnel within the Department. Developing proposals and business plans appropriate for agribusiness sector NOTE : Qualification and SA citizenship checks will be conducted on all short-listed candidates. Security vetting will be done. Successful candidates will be subjected to additional checks.
