    Requirements

    Matric, 3-year National Diploma/Diploma/Degree in Public Administration or Public Management/Communications/Political Science (NQF LEVEL 6/7) or relevant qualification in Local Government Intergovernmental relations. A minimum of 5 years relevant experience in Intergovernmental Relations/Public Participation. Valid driver's licence. Knowledge of local government legislation and policies. Excellent communication skills, innovation & reporting. Legislation and Policy Analysing skills; High level of responsibility, Ability to give attention to detail; Computer literacy (Ms Office) with good presentation skills. Work after normal working hours, during emergencies and planned overtime; Ethical Conduct; and Ability to maintain high level of confidentiality;

    Duties

    Facilitate and strengthen relationships between the municipality and provincial and national government departments. Coordinate participation in intergovernmental forums (e.g. district, provincial and sector forums). Ensure alignment of municipal programmes with provincial and national priorities. Monitor and ensure compliance with applicable legislation, including the Intergovernmental Relations Framework Act and other governance frameworks. Contribute to the development and alignment of the Integrated Development Plan (IDP). Provide advisory support to municipal departments on intergovernmental matters NOTE: Qualification and SA citizenship checks will be conducted on all short-listed candidates. Security vetting will be done. Successful candidates will be subjected to additional checks.
