    Requirements

    Qualifications: o B.Sc. in Medical Sciences specialising in Immunology or B.Tech in Clinical pathology majoring in Serology or Immunology. Work Experience: o At least a 2-years’ experience in the preparation and supervision of immunology practical sessions at tertiary level. Optional requirements Registration with HPCSA as a Medical Scientist or Medical Laboratory scientist will serve as an advantage Knowledge, Skills: Knowledge of immunological laboratory techniques and methods including ELISA, RIA, IRMA, Flow cytometry, Immuno-electrophoresis, Immuno-diffusion, and maintenance of cell cultures. Knowledge in procurement procedures. Knowledge of Quality Assurance in the Laboratory. Knowledge of Good Laboratory Practice. Knowledge of Good Clinical Practice. Attributes Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in written form. Ability to plan, organise and conduct student practical sessions. Computer literate. Ability to work independently and in a team. Pay attention to detail. Good ethical behaviour. Good analytical and interpretation skills. A passion for and commitment to teaching Prepared to go an extra mile.

    Duties

    Ensure that the Immunology Laboratory is always in a good and presentable order. Set up the laboratory for undergraduate Immunology practical sessions. Give Pre-practical talk to students. Develop relevant SOPs and maintain laboratory equipment in the Immunology laboratory as outlined in the SOPs. Ensure Quality assurance in the Immunology laboratory. Audit Laboratory consumables and equipment. Request quotations for laboratory consumables and equipment. Order reagents, laboratory consumables and equipment Give laboratory technical assistance to final year and postgraduate students Participate in departmental/ interdepartmental/ Interschool/ interuniversity collaborative research ……………………………………………………………………………………………………………
