1x HORTICULTURE Ref: (5/3/4/6/56) Salary Scale: R 596 220.01 – R 658 495.02 per annum (post level 05) Requirements: *Grade 12 *National Diploma in Horticulture or Equivalent *A valid Code B Drivers Licence *Minimum three (3) years relevant experience Key Performance Area: *Protect plants in parks from diseases and protect ecosystem from degradation and waterways from harmful erosion and pollution *Handling seeds and cutting for propagation *Conduct plant collection expeditions *Apply chemical pesticides like growth chemicals and pesticides *Planning optimized crop planting *Designing aesthetically pleasing gardens and parks *Present specialist garden or park tours *Preparation of soil mixtures *Caring for ornamental plants like hedges, flower beds or trees *Preparation of weekly and monthly reports regarding parks section *Developing a planned schedule for all parks and gardens around and executing work as per arranged schedule *Awarnes campaigns regarding parks and the general environment Key Competencies: *Communication skills *Management of Stakeholders *Attention to detail *Planning and decision-making skills *Interpersonal relations skills *Ability to work under pressure, within a team and within set time limits *Be self-motivated *Honesty and Integrity *Report writing skills
