Head Clinical Unit/Senior Lecturer

Appointment to this position requires the following: Master of Dentistry (MChD) or equivalent Specialist degree in Prosthodontics,  A minimum of 5 - 7 years post qualification experience,  Experience in facilitating teaching and learning of undergraduate and postgraduate students, Experience in Staff training for advanced Restorative work and/ or other areas in Prosthodontics,   Valid registration with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) as a Specialist in Prosthodontics, A broad understanding in all aspects of the specialty, and an excellent research record, Publications record.   The level of appointment will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.    Minimum Requirements for Appointment as Head Clinical Unit/Senior Lecturer Aforementioned minimum requirements plus, Demonstrated experience in teaching and learning, research, postgraduate supervision and administration, in order to contribute to the Department’s academic objectives, Research and publications record, preferably in the field of Prosthodontics, Expertise in any of the sub specialty in the field of Prosthodontics,  A record of successful postgraduate Masters supervision,  PhD in the relevant field would be preferred in respect of Academic ranking of this post, but is not  a prerequisite,  Evidence of expertise, national standing, and where appropriate, an international presence in his/her discipline, Demonstrated academic leadership in teaching and learning, research, supervision and administration, in order to contribute to the Faculty’s academic objectives.   Applicants must highlight their strength as a clinician and researcher.
