The Government Printing Works (GPW) in Pretoria invites qualifying graduates to apply for two posts within its Facilities Management section as part of the 2027/2029 Graduate Programme (Internship). This is a 24-month structured internship aimed at providing meaningful work experience and practical exposure to graduates who have completed their studies. Successful interns will be placed within the Facilities Management area, where they will receive hands-on training and mentoring from experienced professionals while contributing to the unit's daily operations, projects, and capacity-building initiatives.

Applicants must hold a degree in Law (LLB) or a Paralegal qualification. In addition to this academic requirement, candidates must be South African citizens and currently unemployed. Crucially, applicants must not have previously participated in an internship programme; failing to disclose any prior participation will result in immediate termination of the internship contract on the grounds of dishonesty and undue enrichment. Those who have obtained qualifications from foreign institutions are responsible for ensuring their qualifications are evaluated by the South African Qualifications Authority (SAQA) before applying.

The core duties of the interns will include actively participating in workplace activities and projects within the placement area, engaging in training and capacity-building programmes, and absorbing structured work exposure aligned with their field of study. The internship is designed to bridge the gap between academic knowledge and the professional workplace, with interns working under the close supervision of experienced professionals. They will be expected to comply with the GPW's performance management requirements, as successful candidates will be required to enter into an employment contract and a performance agreement.

The GPW has set out a number of administrative and selection conditions. Applications must follow the instructions in the advertisement precisely, including completing the prescribed application form in full, initialling and signing it, and using the correct submission channel and reference details as instructed. Each post must be applied for separately, and applicants who do not comply with the requirements, or who submit late applications, will not be considered. Only shortlisted candidates will be asked to submit certified copies of qualifications and other relevant documents, and these must be produced on or before the interview date. Personnel suitability checks will be administered as part of the selection process, and shortlisted candidates must be available for interviews at a date and time determined by the GPW.

All applicants should note that their personal information will be collected, processed, and stored in line with the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA) and will be used solely for the purpose of this recruitment process. The GPW reserves the right to fill or not fill the advertised posts. Correspondence will be limited to shortlisted candidates only; if no response is received within three months from the closing date, applicants should regard their application as unsuccessful.
