Job Purpose: To manage the operations and maintenance of the water distribution network in Region 2 through departmental plumbing officials and external contractors

Requirements
An appropriate three-year career-related tertiary qualification (national diploma or degree) in Civil Engineering or in a study field related to the position At least three years’ working experience in a civil engineering field (water and sanitation or roads and storm water field) Registration as a Professional Engineering Technician with the Engineering Council of South Africa will be an added advantage Supervisory experience will be an added advantage A valid Code B driving licence Computer literacy Must undergo a criminal record check and such a person shall allow their fingerprints to be taken by the Tshwane Metro Police Department at own cost Personal attributes Negotiation skills; business acumen; leadership skills; project management skills; and/or competencies communication skills; analytical thinking skills; organisational skills; budget management skills; having integrity and patience; intelligence; innovative thinking skills; being energetic; imagination; flexibility; willingness to accept responsibility; decisiveness; ability to pay attention to detail

Manage operations and maintenance of the water distribution network Manage and make optimal use of available assets and resources Ensure complaints resolution and feedback Exercise expenditure and budget control Ensure occupational health and safety compliance Check and verify payment certificates prior to submission of payments Implement capital and operational expenditure projects Supervise contractors Provide technical input and assistance
