Department: SUSTAINABLE ENERGY AND GENERATION
Minimum Requirements:
- BSc Degree in Electrical Engineering or BEng/BTech Electrical Engineering or equivalent
- Registration as a Professional Engineer (Pr Eng or Pr Tech Eng)
- 8 years relevant post graduate professional and managerial experience
- Code B Driver’s License
- Computer Literacy
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Financial competencies as required by the MFMA
- Professionally registered engineering role
- Required to work outside normal working hours when operationally necessary
- Required to work in all weather conditions
- Must be physically fit and able-bodied
- Required to use own transport (transport allowance applicable)
- High Level of accountability, ethical conduct and independent decision-making
Duties:
- Strategic planning and development of municipal energy generation initiatives
- Renewable energy and small-scale embedded generation (SSEG) development
- Energy efficiency and climate change integration
- Financial, contract, and project management
- Stakeholder engagement and intergovernmental coordination
- Compliance with electricity legislation, MFMA, OSH Act, and environmental legislation
