Job Overview
To render direct, indirect and consultative therapeutic and educational support in an inclusive context, within a Public Special School/ Resource Centre and/ or Outreach clinic for Public Ordinary schools.
Formal Qualifications and Inherent Requirements
Qualifications Required
Honours degree in Psychology (Essential)
Proof of current HPCSA registration as a registered counsellor (Essential)
Appropriate qualification as an educator (Recommended)
Registration with the South African Council for Educators/proof of application for registration (Recommended)
Work Experience Required
None/entry-level (Preference will be given to applicants with relevant experience) (Recommended)
Recommendations
- Relevant experience - Utilising technology / ICT in the classroom - Knowledge of SIAS Policy (Screening, Identification, Assessment and Support Policy) and White Paper 6. - Experience and/or knowledge of behavioural modification strategies. - Experience and/or knowledge in developing individual development plans for learners
Other
Able to work in a multi-disciplinary team. Have in-depth knowledge of The Circle of Courage philosophy as a model of care.
Work and lead effectively in outreach team.
