Director (Road Infrastructure Management)

Key Responsibility Areas

•  Provide strategic leadership by directing and leading the Roads Infrastructure Management Directorate. 
• Lead Roads Infrastructure Management Directorates Strategic Framework for managing infrastructure assets, risks and priorities. 
• Leading and development and review of municipal policies and By-Laws related to the road networks, coastal engineering, stormwater drainage and catchment management infrastructure. 
• Lead processes relating to defining contractual obligations against the general principles of law and statutory regulations. 
• Manage the budgeting, expenditure control and resource planning responsibilities of the Directorate.
• Directs outcomes associated with utilization, productivity and performance of personnel within the Directorate. 
• Direct strategic relationships with internal and external stakeholders. 
• Manages the administration and reporting requirements associated with the key performance and result indicators.

Essential Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree (NQF Level 8) in the Built Environment or any other related and equivalent qualification. 
• Registered as a Professional with the relevant professional body. 
• Valid motor vehicle driving license.
• 9 years relevant experience in the Built environment of which 5 years must be at a senior management level. 

Preferred Requirements

•  Postgraduate qualification (NQF Level 9) in the Built Environment or any other related and equivalent qualification.
• 10 years relevant experience in the Built Environment of which 6 years must be at a senior management level.
