    Job Purpose: To lead, manage and facilitate effective communication strategies that enhance the City of Tshwane’s public image, reputation and transparency, while ensuring consistent accurate messaging between the City of Tshwane and communities

    Requirements

    An appropriate three-year career-related tertiary qualification (national diploma or degree) in Journalism, Communication Science, Public Relations or any other study field related to the position At least nine years’ working experience in media relations, of which four years should be managerial experience A valid Code B driving licence Computer literacy Must undergo a criminal record check and such a person shall allow their fingerprints to be taken by the Tshwane Metro Police Department at own cost Personal attributes Strategic thinking skills with strong innovation capability; high emotional and/or competencies intelligence; ability to be professional, ethical and accountable; ability to be detail-oriented with strong organisational capability; ability to work under pressure and manage multiple projects

    Duties

    Manage media engagement and liaison relationships Build and maintain positive constructive relationships with domestic and international media outlets, journalists and editors
