A sound, track record as an academic at the level of Professor in line with TUT requirements for professors. Academic teaching experience with evidence of excellence in teaching and research. A successful track record in devising and implementing strategic change and growth, as well as driving organisational effectiveness. A demonstrated record of leadership and management capabilities, having provided leadership to academics, policy makers, community leaders and leaders of the private sector (National and International). A distinguished research and scholarship of teaching background, having impacted positively on institutional and/or national policies, as well as a significant publication record in peer-reviewed journals. OTHER SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: A proven record in designing capacity building programmes aimed specifically at producing a new generation of academics and a firm grasp of solutions needed for the retention of young and established academics within the University Ability and experience in the development and implementation of policy Evidence of successful networking and collaboration with external partners germane to the higher education sector* A track record of personal excellence in leading and managing a large and diverse staff complement Strategic thinking, visionary leadership, and commitment to the university’s strategic goals Skills in managing change and navigating different cultural and political environments effectively Experience in driving academic transformation Evidence of familiarity with Academic Ratings KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ATTRIBUTES Knowledge: Knowledge and understanding of the Higher Education Act, University Statutes and Rules People with disabilities are encouraged to apply.
