Applicants must be willing to travel and work extended hours when required.
The core responsibilities are wide-ranging. The Deputy Director must ensure that all requisitions are complete and accurate, advising business units on how to correct recurring non-compliance and errors. The role involves representing the warehousing function in compliance and risk management forums, monitoring adherence to audit standards, and upholding quality assurance across all warehousing activities. The incumbent must identify and address potential risks related to warehousing processes, systems, and infrastructure to guarantee business continuity and regulatory compliance. The position also entails coordinating and implementing warehousing management within the department, developing and implementing policies, procedures, and directives, and maintaining sound working relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Effective management of human, physical, and financial resources is central to the role, along with coaching and guiding staff on best practices and regulatory compliance.
The successful candidate will demonstrate strong leadership, strategic capability, and service delivery innovation, alongside client orientation, people management, and change management skills. Other key competencies include decision-making, negotiation, problem-solving, communication, presentation, planning and organising, computer literacy, numerical skills, and business report writing.
