    Job Description

    Knowledge of extension methodologies and Land-reform.
    Sound knowledge of PFMA, PSR, PSA, LRA.
    Sound knowledge of Project Management,
    change management, strategic planning, knowledge management, report writing,
    facilitation,
    coordination,
    planning and organising, diversity management and computer literacy. Good
    communication skills (written and verbal).
    Computer Literacy
    (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc). Ability to work under pressure. A valid
    driver's license.

    Requirements

    Grade 12 plus a recognised BSc/Post Graduate
    Diploma in Agriculture/Agri-Economics/Natural Science qualification (NQF 8),
    coupled with a minimum of 3
    years' management related experience and knowledge of
    agricultural activities.

    Duties

    Provide overall management of the Agricultural office and
    its activities in the Municipality. Manage agricultural developments and
    provide
    support services to IDP/LED planning environment. Implement comprehensive farmer
    support programmes. Manage the planning
    and implementation of Natural Resource
    Management projects. Monitor poverty alleviation and household food security
    programmes.
    Provide
    appropriate advisory support to develop and strengthen the capacity of the
    Farmers. Managing and monitor projects. Implement
    the
    extension and advisory recovery plan. Ensure that farmers participate in
    disaster and risk
    management
    programmes. Monitor the farmer's organisation for effective service delivery.

    More Information

    Only shortlisted
    candidates will be required to submit certified documents. Foreign
    qualifications must be accompanied by an evaluation certificate from the South
    African Qualification Authority (SAQA). Emailed applications will not be
    considered. All shortlisted candidates, including the SMS, shall undertake two
    pre-entry assessments. One will be a practical exercise to determine a
    candidate’s suitability based on the post’s technical and generic requirements
    and the other will be an integrity (ethical conduct) assessment. Shortlisted
    candidates will be required to be available for assessments and interviews at a
    date and time to be determine by the Department. The first two recommended
    candidates for Deputy Directors posts will be subjected to competency
    assessment.
    All shortlisted
    candidates for SMS posts will be subjected to a technical exercise and
    interview.  Following the technical
    exercise and interview, a maximum of three (3) SMS candidates will undergo
    psychometric assessments to assess cognitive capabilities, behavioural
    preferences, emotional intelligence, and integrity.

    will be limited to shortlisted candidates only. The successful candidate will
    be expected to enter into an employment contract and a performance agreement
    within 3 months of appointment. Failure to comply with the above instructions
