    The Department is seeking a Deputy Director for Accounting Services at its Head Office in Pietermaritzburg. The Deputy Director will manage bookkeeping services, ensuring accurate recording and reconciliation of financial transactions. Creditors management will be facilitated, and the incumbent will be responsible for managing vouchers, payroll processes, and loss control measures. In addition, the role requires rendering financial systems control services, which involves maintaining the integrity of financial systems and ensuring compliance with prescribed frameworks. Banking and tax services also fall under this position, requiring oversight of bank reconciliations, cash management, and tax obligations. Beyond these operational tasks, the Deputy Director is expected to develop policies and strategies aimed at improving service delivery within the department. This includes identifying areas for reform, drafting policy proposals, and implementing strategic initiatives. The management of the sub-directorate’s resources, including human, financial, and material resources, is another key responsibility, ensuring that the unit operates efficiently and effectively.
