Job Overview

To engage in class teaching, be responsible for the effective functioning of the department and to organise relevant/related extra-curricular activities so as to ensure that the subject, learning area or phase and the education of the learners is promoted in a proper manner.

Formal Qualifications and Inherent Requirements

Qualifications Required

A post graduate qualification in education management and leadership (Recommended)

A recognized three year (REQV 13) qualification which includes professional teacher education. (Essential)

A four year (REQV 14) qualification which includes professional teacher education. (Recommended)

Registration as a Professional Teacher with the South African Council for Educators (SACE)/proof of registration (Essential)

Work Experience Required

3 Years teaching experience (Essential)

Recommendations

- Relevant experience- Utilising technology / ICT in the classroom- Experience in a promotion post (acting or permanent)- Experience and/or knowledge in developing individual development plans for learners - Involvement in sport and cultural activities

Funda Wande Reading for Meaning Training. CAPS Training. Available to work after hours if needed or necessary. Good classroom management skills. Assist Novice teachers with mentorship.
