    POST: Component Head: Forensic Accounting Investigation (Major General) LOCATION: Directorate for Priority Crime Investigation, Head Office, Pretoria LEVEL OF REMUNERATION: Band B (SMS) = An all-inclusive flexible remuneration package of R 1 582 272 per annum is applicable to the post REFERENCES: DPCI/SMS/HO/05/2026 (1 post) Generic Requirements: • Must be fluent in at least two of the official languages, of which one must be English and must be a South African citizen; • Must have a valid light motor vehicle drivers’ licence: • Must have received a rating of at least “satisfactory” at the last written performance assessment in terms of the applicable performance management system; • Must have no tattoo mark(s) which will be visible when wearing any uniform of the Service; • Will be subjected to a preliminary security clearance vetting, which must reflect no negative issue against such candidate; • Must be willing to undergo SAPS basic training or lateral training (applicable to all externally advertised posts); and • Will be required to undergo a Lifestyle Audit and Top Secret security vetting process. • Must have specific working knowledge of the Directorate for Priority Crime Investigation (DPCI) mandate and functions (SAPS Act, Act No. 68 of 1995); • An applicable post graduate qualification relevant to the core functions of the posts, relevant training and development in an Executive Development Programme, Leadership and Management Training Programme, and / or Programme and Project Management may be an advantage. Generic Competencies: • The post requires skills in: strategic capability, analytical ability and leadership, programme and project management, financial management, change management, service delivery innovation, problem solving and analysis, people management and empowerment, client orientation, audit and assurance, audit and risk management experience, stake holder relations and customer focus. Applicants must have knowledge of systems, processes, procedures, policies and legislation relevant to the field of the post, such as the Minimum Information Security Standards (MISS), Public Service Act, South African Police Service Act, as well as Public Finance Management Act, Treasury Regulations, Police / Public Service Regulations, Risk Management Framework in the Public Sector and other relevant legislation. Applicants must also be computer literate (Microsoft Word / Power Point / Excel). Additional Requirements: Applicant must: • Have at least a four (4) year Degree (accredited by SAQA on NQF level 8 or higher). Preference may be given to applicants who are in possession of a qualification in Accounting, Forensic Investigation, Law, or equivalent 4-year qualification relevant to the core functions of the post. • Be registered as CFE (ACFE) or FP (SA) (ICFP) designation. CA(SA) OR AGA(SA) listed as preferred option. • Have a minimum period of eight (8) years forensic experience, with at least five (5) years at Senior Management level. • Professional membership of Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE) and Institute of Commercial Forensic Practitioners (ICFP) with supporting certificates included in the application. Core Functions: • The Component Head: Forensic Accounting Investigation (FAI) is directly accountable to the Divisional Commissioner: National Priority Offences, Operations; • Ensure that all applications received for appointment of forensic accounting investigation firm are assessed and processed as per FAI: SOP; • Ensure that outsourced forensic accounting investigations are conducted and finalised within the time frames prescribed in the contracts; • Ensure the progress monitoring of outsourced active forensic accounting investigation; • Ensure compilation of investigation planning memorandum and forensic accounting investigation plan; • Ensure the conducting of forensic accounting investigation in terms of the applicable professional standards; • Ensure the preparation of a Forensic Investigation report for all in-house forensic accounting investigations; • Ensure quality and timely execution of ad-hoc duties related to stakeholders engagements; • Ensure Quality Assurance of outsourced forensic accounting investigation draft reports; • Ensure Quality Assurance of in-house forensic accounting investigation draft reports; • Present forensic accounting investigation report and testify in court; • Comply with DPCI policies and standards relating to the environment (including international agreements); • Establish and maintain working relationship with internal and external role players; • Represent the Divisional Commissioner: National Priority Offences, Operations at various forums as directed; • Ensure compliance with information security standards as prescribed by Minimum Information Security Standards and relevant legislation; • Manage and utilise all resources (human, physical and financial) allocated to the immediate post environment in accordance with relevant directives and legislation. ?
