This advertisement seeks to fill two Cleaner positions within the Technology Management Services unit, with one post located at the Provincial TMS office in Polokwane and the other at the Thohoyandou TMS office. The successful incumbents will be responsible for maintaining a high standard of hygiene across the assigned South African Police Service premises, ensuring that both the interior and exterior environments remain clean, safe, and presentable. As part of a broader technical services environment, the role is essential in supporting the daily operations of the unit by providing a clean and orderly workplace for officials and visitors alike.

Applicants must be South African citizens and be prepared to furnish proof of citizenship on the day of the interview. They must be proficient in at least English and one other official language, and should possess an educational qualification at ABET Level 4, Grade 9, Standard 7, or NQF Level 1, with the relevant documentary proof available when required. The role calls for a sound understanding of how to handle cleaning detergents safely, as well as knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety protocols. Basic literacy, numeracy, and communication skills are essential, along with the ability to read and write and interact professionally with other officials. Candidates should also be capable of operating elementary cleaning machines and equipment, and must be willing to work extended hours whenever necessary to meet operational demands.

The core duties are practical and varied, centred on ensuring a consistently clean and hygienic workplace. This includes dusting, polishing furniture and floors, vacuuming carpets, mopping tile floors, removing refuse, and performing basic maintenance tasks in and around the assigned premises. The cleaner will also be expected to clean bathrooms and kitchens, safely keep and handle the various cleaning aids and agents used, and assist with loading and unloading goods. Additional responsibilities include garden maintenance services, as well as washing and cleaning state vehicles, kitchenware, and utensils. The work demands attention to detail, reliability, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
