    Key Performance Output

    The successful candidate will be reporting to the Group Manager Commercial Sourcing and Asset Disposals and will be responsible for the following:

    • Conduct an analysis of ACSA’s spend, historical data and external market across a portfolio of commodities to baseline, determine trends and identify sourcing opportunities.
    • Use analytic techniques to further support complex sourcing and supply chain projects.
    • Assess category demand plans to determine business requirements and assist in the development of commodity and category sourcing strategies.
    • Identify high impact cost reduction opportunities.
    • Actively uses and combines different sourcing strategies according to a prepared negotiation plan.
    • Build and maintain constructive relationships with suppliers and service providers.
    • Address variances and opportunities for continuous improvement with supplier relationships and implement remedial actions where required.
    • Monitor and report on financial compliance/performance of the contract and takes appropriate corrective action when necessary to maintain exceptional service.
    • Ensure delivery form suppliers complies with contract conditions, as well as with ACSA policies, principles, guidelines and standards.
    • Implement contract strategies and category specific requirements for supplier contracts
    • Negotiate supplier contracts in terms of materials/service quality and prices, delivery specifications, contract lifespan, contract ceilings, contract terms and conditions, etc.
    • Contribute to the development of a cross-category database and data analytics capability.
    • Implement BBBEE strategies to ensure required targets are met.
    • Assist with the development of new processes, procedures and solutions for the purchasing system and identify any category specific requirements.
    • Manage ACSA’s risk exposure through identification, implementation and maintenance of risk control measures to minimise the Company’s liability.

    Technical Skills and Experience

    The following skills and experience, or the equivalent of such, will be required:

    • Bachelor’s degree (3 years - 360 credits) in Supply Chain, Procurement, Logistics, Business Management, Finance (NQF 7) is essential.
    • Bachelor Honours Degree (NQF 8) in Supply Chain, Procurement, Logistics, Business Management, Finance is advantageous.
    • 6-8 years relevant operational experience in strategic sourcing, strategic purchasing, operations procurement, Logistics or contracts management organisation is essential.
    • Chartered Institute of Purchase and Supply (CIPS) OR SAPICS registration is advantageous.
    • Member of the Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply (MCIPS) is advantageous.
