Assist in the implementation of methodologies, policies, systems and procedures with particular reference to crop science research project implementation. Provide technical support and recommendations or advice on crop science production constraints. Assist in the implementation of applied research to generate information and knowledge aimed at developing appropriate technology to address crop science production constraints in addressing food insecurity. Assist in the development of databases, data management and subsequent analysis of crop science research data; continuous development to keep abreast with new technologies and procedures. Requirements
A recognised 3 year tertiary qualification in Crop Science/Plant Production. Compulsory registration with SACNASP as a Candidate Certificated Natural Scientist. A valid driving license. Knowledge: Scientific methodologies, Research and development; Computer-aided scientific applications; Technical report writing; Professional judgement. Skills: Analytical skills, Creativity; Customer focus and responsiveness; Computer literacy; Networking; Planning and organising; Conflict management; Problem solving and analysis.
