Requirements
QUALIFICATION, COMPETENCIES : Matric. National Diploma in Real Estate/Property Valuation or equivalent qualification (NOF 6) recognized by the South African Council for the Property Valuers Profession (SACVP). Valid Registration as a Candidate Valuer or Professional Associate Valuer with the SACVP. Valid driver's license code B or above. Minimum 3-5 years' relevant experience with Valuations knowledge, Experience with Municipal Valuation as per MPRA provisions will be advantageous. Sound Knowledge of the Municipal Property Rates Act and other applicable legislation. Computer literacy, including MS Office Applications, preferably with spreadsheet and word processing. Ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines. Good communication skills (verbal and written). Reporting Writing Skills Planning, organizing, and time management. Collaborative/Teamwork, Values and Integrity, Attention to detail. Good judgement, assertiveness and analytical thinking. Diligent person and pay attention to detail. Customer Service delivery management and Professionalism. Understanding of Batho Pele Principles.
Duties
Assist in the preparation and maintenance of the general and supplementary valuation rolls i.e the Municipal Property Rates Act No.6 of 2004 (MPRA) Administer and coordinate valuation-related processes in compliance with the MPRA, including providing administrative support for property valuation objections, appeals, and related statutory functions. Assist with verification of certain component of the Fixed Asset Register and maintenance thereof. Provide Market Valuations for the Disposal Acquisition, Rental and Investment of Immovable Properties for Municipal Purposes. Provide enhanced process optimization, efficiency and continuous improvement within valuation section. Undertake specific tasks associated with all aspect of property valuations, including property market research and the physical attributes of property. Engage relevant stakeholders and represent the Valuations section on property valuation matters. Assist in spatial analysis of maps for the study areas and update GIS systems in respect of sub-divisions, rezoning and consolidations. Compile, analyse and submit accurate, reliable and timeous reports to support management decision-making, statutory compliance, and operational performance monitoring. Develop and execute day to day operational plan.
