    Requirements

    A relevant PhD with literature or (applied) linguistics as core element.A relevant teaching qualification.Experience of teaching English in higher education contexts.Experience of postgraduate supervision or as co-supervisor at honours, master's and doctoral level in language education.A strong academic record, including international collaborations.Recent and relevant publications in peer-reviewed journals in English language education.Attending and presenting peer-reviewed papers at national and international education conferences.------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ RecommendationNational Research Foundation (NRF) rating (for Associate Professor level).Deep-seated interest and knowledge of current South African education policies.Experience and/or knowledge of technology-aided language education.------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    Duties

    Teaching English Home Language and First Additional Language in undergraduate and postgraduate modules.Developing and evaluating teaching and learning materials for English language teaching. Participating in the development and assessment of teaching and learning opportunities (practical teaching).Conducting research and publishing in chosen areas of specialisation.Supervising and co-supervising postgraduate students at honours, masters and doctoral level.Identifying and applying for research funding.Participating in Social Impact projects and rendering appropriate services to Stellenbosch University and the teaching community.Contributing to academic administration and leadership in the discipline, Department and Faculty.------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
