    POST : Assistant Director: Fleet REFERENCE NO. : ETH 06 /2026 NO. OF POSTS : 01 CENTRE : ETHEKWINI DISTRICT OFFICE SALARY NOTCH : R 487 197.00 per annum OTHER BENEFITS : 13th cheque, Medical Aid (optional), Housing Allowance (Employee must meet prescribed requirements) MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS Senior Certificate PLUS Degree or National Diploma in Transport Management or Public Management or Public Administration, A minimum of three (3) years’ Supervisory experience in Transport related environment, Valid driver’s license. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, TRAINING AND COMPETENCIES REQUIRED: Ability to demonstrate knowledge of policies and practices well. Ability to apply technical/professional knowledge and skills in the work area and wider work environment. Ability to keep abreast of work-related developments. Interpersonal relations, innovation and communication skills. Change Management, Decision making, time management, risk management and good interpersonal relation skills. KEY PERFORMANCES AREAS Manage the use of district fleet. Oversee management of hospital, CHC, EMS, Mortuary, PHC fleet. Oversee compliance to fleet management prescripts. Conduct fleet audits. Compile and present reports to district meetings and head office. Monitor and report on fleet management indicators. Ensure availability of fleet to reduce complaints. Oversee the servicing and necessary repairs are conducted. Conducting physical inspections to determine the condition of fleet for possible damage. Identifying underutilized and vehicles due for replacement (BOS). Monitor allocation of KZN vehicles and vehicles used for private on official use. Maintain proper records for fleet management and audit purposes. Coordinating accident committee meetings. Submission of incident reports. Support facility accident committee meetings and investigations. Identify fleet risks and implement mitigation strategies. Allocate fleet for MMC, workshops/Trainings, outreach programs. Monitor fleet expenditure. Conduct stakeholder engagements for rationalization of transport. Motivate for district fleet to head office to suit service delivery needs.
