    Job Purpose

    The Department of the Premier, Western Cape Government has an opportunity for a suitably qualified and competent individual to coordinate, review and undertake the implementation of financial accounting systems and procedures in line with relevant legislation, regulations frameworks and departmental policies and procedures.

    Minimum Requirements

    An appropriate 3-year B-Degree in Financial Management at NQF level 7 (equivalent or higher); A minimum of 3 years relevant supervisory experience.

    Collection and recording of revenue: Cashier, banking service and electronic payments; Claims management; Monitoring and reporting on revenue; Expenditure management: Compensation of employees; Goods and services; Transfers and subsidies; Reporting; Supervise employees to ensure an effective financial accounting service; Assist with inputs of Financial Statements.

    Competencies

    Knowledge of the following:Public Finance Management Act (PFMA), National Treasury Regulations and Provincial Treasury Instructions; Public Service Act, 1994, as amended; Basic Conditions of Employment Act; Relevant systems (Basic Accounting System and Logistical Information System); Understanding ofpublic serviceaccountingprocedures,processesand systems;Performance management in general.Skills needed:Written and verbal communication; Proven computer literacy; Numeracy and literacy; Project Management; Accounting and Financial Mnaagement; People Management.
