ASSISTANT DIRECTOR: DONOR GRANT SUPPORT (REF NO: DHET 26/09/2026)

Prospective candidates should be in possession of a three-year bachelor’s degree/advanced diploma (NQF level 6) in Public/Business Administration/Financial Management or equivalent qualification. A relevant post-graduate qualification will be an added advantage and be proactive, effective with ability to work in a diverse team. Experience of three (3) to five (5) years in education and training and skills to provide support to a relevant project will be strongly recommended. Apart from project management, the candidate should have financial management backed by at least three (3) to five (5) years’ experience in project grants local and international donor funds management at junior management level. A qualification in Financial Management is an added advantage. In addition, the successful candidate must have proficiency in MS Office Packages as well as communication and report writing skills. DUTIES: The successful candidate will primarily be required to: Assist in the coordination, management, monitoring and evaluation of the grants and donor funded projects. Assist in compiling quarterly semester performance reports on projects funded by grants and donors. Assist in ensuring strict adherence to reporting procedures of projects and deadlines. Assist in the coordination, management, monitoring and evaluation of the grants and donor funded projects. Provide administrative support to grants and other donor funded project committees for the post school sector. Develop and maintain the database on various projects. Evaluate projects proposals and appraise Business Plans for the effective and efficient utilization of project funds. Manage the interface with different stakeholders of the DHET at the required level. Perform other duties delegated from time to time in the Directorate. N.B. Must be able to conduct and moderate Trade Test in the electrical and related trades. Must be able to conduct processes relating to ARPL in the trade. Must be able to interpret and implement the ARPL Toolkit. Must be able to interpret and adhere to Regulations governing Trade Testing. Must be able to interpret and implement the Occupational Health and Safety Act in all workshops. Skills: Good planning and organizing skills. Good report writing skills. Good verbal and written communication skills. Must be Computer literate (MS Word, Excel, Power Point). Supervisory and problem-solving skills. Ability to manage resources that includes human, assessment equipment and material. Effective record keeping. DUTIES: Conduct and moderate trade testing in Electrical trade as well as implement and maintain ARPL, Conduct and moderate trade testing in Electrical trade as well as implement and maintain ARPL, Conduct moderation of Trade Testing internally and externally, Maintain and ensure safekeeping of assessments records, Supervise Trade Assistants, Procure assessment equipment and material, and Assess performance of staff in the unit.N.B. Must be able to assess candidates in Rigging. Computer literacy (MS Word, Excel, Power Point). Good report writing. Good planning and organizing skills. Good verbal and written communication skills. Good problem-solving skill. Good supervisory skills. DUTIES: Conduct assessment in the Rigging trade and implement ARPL. Conduct Moderation of Trade Test internally and externally. Conduct audits of external Trade Test centres. · Maintain and ensure safekeeping of assessment records. · Supervise Trade Assistants· Assess performance of staff reporting to him/her. · Procurement and control of assessment stock. · Maintain safety in the workshop. ·Adhere to health and safety policies and procedures.
