    Department: Transport & Fleet Management Department (2019)

    Minimum Requirements:

    • Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Transport Management (NQF Level 7)
    • Finance management Qualification NQF level 5 MFMA will serve as an advantage
    • Trade Test in motor or diesel mechanic
    • 6 years relevant experience in Automotive workshop management, Vehicle repairs and maintenance as well as Fleet management

    Core Responsibilities:

    • Ensure efficient and effective management, co-ordination and control of workshop operations in your area of accountability
    • Responsible for management of the Fleet workshop for repair, maintenance as well as the Stores for spare parts
    • Responsible for the compilation of the budget in your area of accountability and oversee the preparation of monthly and annual financial reports
    • Develop and implement quality control processes, risk analysis and managing risks in order to ensure effective implementation of programme management frameworks, tools and systems
    • Effective and efficiently promote good governance and compliance of applicable legislation and prescribed policies
    • Ensure compliance to financial regulations and policies, monitoring and enforcing effective financial control, corporate governance and financial compliance
    • Establish, influence and manage strategic internal and external relationships inclusive of customers, service providers and relevant legislative agencies and structures.
    • Lead and manage direct and indirect teams by providing context, setting performance standards and educating on process, quality and policy

    The successful candidate will be required to sign a performance contract as per Council resolution.
