The role is responsible for the design, development, engineering and implementation of mainframe infrastructure architectures, processes and initiatives for large enterprise class mainframe servers, that fulfil legislative obligations and data protection requirements and ensure alignment with the Government and Corporate security acts, policies, and strategies. Also ensures a secure and stable environment for the user of Large Enterprise class servers.
Requirements
Minimum: 3-year National Diploma/ Degree in IT, Computer Science. IBM z/OS certification added advantage. Experience: 7-8 years' work experience of mainframe system programming on relevant Large Enterprise class server in a large corporate or public sector. Experience in the implementation of mainframe ICT Solutions specifically within the relevant mainframe Large Enterprise class server environment. Extensive knowledge of mainframe operating systems and related system software, tools and utilities. Large Enterprise mainframe class server hardware and software System Programming. Deep understanding of mainframe architecture. Deep understanding of operational integration of mainframe security functions. Strong knowledge of security, storage and network architecture. Deep knowledge of mainframe infrastructure best practices, principles, and common frameworks. Extensive knowledge of mainframe systems infrastructure Deep working knowledge of mainframe System Administrator frameworks. Good knowledge and understanding of risk management processes and experience in conducting risk assessments. Good knowledge and understanding of business continuity and disaster recovery. Extensive knowledge of developing and documenting mainframe infrastructure architecture and plans, including strategic, tactical and project. Strong organizational and project management skills Thorough understanding of infrastructure and good Hosting Management Data Centre, Cloud Attention to Detail The ability to ensures information is complete and accurate. Analytical thinking Identifies issues; obtains relevant information, relates and compares data from different sources, and identifies alternative solutions. Continuous Learning The ability to constantly expand one's skill set. Disciplined Showing a controlled form of behaviour or way of working, diligently. Own reliable vehicle with valid driver's license. Candidates will be required to be security vetted.
Duties
Develop and design mainframe infrastructure strategies, procedures and processes. Provide the project teams with technical leadership on mainframe system administrator projects / solutions implementation.
