    Remuneration

    Inherent requirements of the job

    A valid (Code B/EB) driver’s licence. Willingness to travel.

    Experience

    Appropriate experience in Bursary Administration and budgeting. Appropriate experience in BAS.

    Minimum educational qualification

    Senior certificate or equivalent qualification.

    Duties (key result areas/outputs)

    Facilitate internal and external bursaries. Administer bursaries on the Bursary Information Management System. Facilitate the transfer of payments to Higher Education Institutions. Technical support for the implementation of full-time bursaries. Do criminal record verifications with prospective and current bursary students. Monitoring of the bursary budget and give input to the budget projections. Prepare and collate bursary payments. Capture bursary payments on BAS. Do regular bursary audits. Do regular follow ups with bursary holders. Coordinate Breach of Contracts of bursary holders. Do necessary BAS Journals as required. Plan and attend career exhibitions. Handle telephone and written enquiries. Liaise with HEIs and relevant stakeholders. Supervise staff. Provide general support to the Directorate: People Development.

    Competencies (knowledge/skills)

    Knowledge of BAS. Knowledge of BIMS. Computer literacy (MS Office package and MS Outlook). Sound knowledge regarding Bursary matters related to the post.
